Is Boise Leading the Housing Recovery?

Apparently so.  When leaders of the housing recovery are mentioned you don’t automatically think Boise, Idaho. However, according to Forbes we are in the top 10 of metro markets across the country who are statistical out-performers. These findings are based on data provided by Realtor.com.  Other cities cracking the top 10 include Detroit, Iowa City, Tulsa, Ann Arbor, Nashville, Pensacola, Oklahoma City, Corpus Christi, and Shreveport, LA. In these areas median home prices are affordable and rising much faster than the nation as a whole.

Boise’s median prices are up 9.1 percent for the year, houses sell in a median 79 days, and they’re affordable— a $169,000 median price. Like other outperformers, unemployment is well below national norms — 6.2 percent.
